"DEEP DESPAIR!"

Poem Book # 8
When in 'deep despair'
over our sin & shame,
It should cause us to run to JESUS
that 'Precious' Holy Name!
For it shows us we can do 'nothing'
without His help & leading,
The One Who longs to help us
& to God is 'interceding. *
As I read my Bible *
& study its precious Word,
I soon find my 'helplessness'
in doing what I've heard!
It causes me to cry out:
"Help, Lord, for I can't make it,
If You don't come & help me
Your Word ~ I will forsake it!"
Ahh, then He comes to help me
for He KNOWS ~ I really 'mean' it,
As I'm not speaking false words only
knowing I need Him -this sin- to really shake it!
For 'His' standard of Righteousness
from us ~ that He requires,
I never can 'attain'
nor 'do' what He desires!
"Oh, how can I be a 'light', Lord *
or 'salt' to help 'others' along,
If I've lost my savor
& never 'sing' that brand new song?
Oh, Lord, help me LEARN to sing
down in that Valley low, *
Then I will be able to to walk
~ANYWHERE~ You want me to go!
My soul aches for Jesus
to -walk- in His company,
Longing my heart to fill
while I am on bended knee.
Closer ~ yet 'still' closer
every single day,
'Seeking' for His help
so I won't go astray."
Yes, that's what our Lord is after
a heart who desires His Presence,
Singing ~PRAISES~ to Him
when NOTHING is making sense!
For ~PRAISES~ from our lips
as a ~sacrifice~ to Him, *
Will truly help us through
that 'raging sea' that we must swim.
"Oh, I can't go through this storm!"
we cry out in our 'deep despair',
Never realizing ~
that our GOD is standing there!
Ready & 'waiting' for our call
~ oh won't you call to Him today ? ~
Then He'll come & help you
& Lead you on your way.
