A ‘seed’ that has no root
cannot bloom for long,
It will wither & die
as the plumage is all wrong.
For to grow ‘up’ & not grow ‘down’
‘deep rooted’ in the soil,
Will starve the plant of ‘life’
& it will only toil.
And so it is with man
who has no ‘roots’ in CHRIST,
They, too, will starve to death
for, in them, is no ‘Life’!
Toiling in their ‘own’ strength
they’ll only soon give out,
For God’s ‘Love’ can never grow
& soon they’ll only ‘doubt’.
