Come, Lord Jesus, Come *
come into my life today,
There is 'trouble' all around me
& my heart is full of dismay.
Oh, "surprise" me with Joy & Peace
And Your Love -
which will never cease.
In the midst of this awful hour
Show me, Lord, Your Mighty Power. *
My strength lies in You, oh Lord *
as I PRAISE Your Holy Name,
I must do Justice, Lord, yet be *
full of Kindness just the same.
I must admit that I am weak
& my strength lies only in You,
Oh, come & work sweet Holy Spirit
for without You, what would I do?
I gave You my mind awhile back **
for You knew what lay ahead,
For all these 'troubles' would have
shot me down, & I would be
laying here dead.
You are our great "Comforter"
our "Deliverer" as well, are You,
But we must always do our part
& stay unto You - True. *
If You say to "Stop! & don't go back
to doing those sins of the past", *
Then You will truly help us
to be "free", yes, free at last.
For You have made us strong
& helped us to overcome,
And the thing which drew us into sin
well, its work will be done!
For You have shown us that
You are stronger than any pull
this world has on us,
And if we'd only TRUST in You
all will become True & Just.
