" 'WHO' NAILED HIM THERE?"

Can we 'blame' the Soldier
who nailed JESUS to that Cross?
Or can we blame the 'Priests' who
didn't want Him as their 'boss'?
Or how about the people
who shouted, "CRUCIFY!"?
Or, the ones who 'beat' Him
thinking He would die?
How about His Disciples
who only 'ran away'?
Couldn't they have stopped that crowd
on that final - fateful day?
Each 'blow' that was driven
through His Hands & Feet,
Was nailed by ALL OF US
because of our 'defeat'!
We could NOT 'overcome'
& 'win out' over sin,
So GOD had to send His SON
that we might 'surely' win!
There were good men like Nicodemus *
& bad men like Barabbas, *
But, ALL OF US have sinned & *
'fall short' of - His Righteousness.
NONE of us are 'good' *
except for GOD ALONE, *
And one of these days
we'll stand before His Throne.
His Judgment will be cast
because of our 'unbelief', *
UNLESS we've 'chosen CHRIST' *
& turned from that great 'thief'. *
Yes, we ALL 'nailed' JESUS
to that Cross of shame,
But - THANK GOD - He'll FORGIVE us *
& let us wear His Name!
COME NOW -
don't 'delay' another hour,
Seek CHRIST for yourself
& He'll fill you with His Power. *
'Serve' Him day by day
& get to KNOW Him well,
Seek His Face & THANK HIM
for saving you from hell! 2/13/98

"THAT 'AWFUL' PRICE!"

What an 'awful' price to pay, Lord
if the people DO NOT CARE,
You surely must LOVE us very much
to be 'willing' - that Cross - to bear!
You bore our sin & sorrow
& PAID for it with Your BLOOD,
All our 'SIN' laid on Your Back
& You felt them with each 'thud'!
That 'whip' that bought our FREEDOM
You 'gladly' PAID its price,
Those 'nail scarred' Hands that 'bled'
for us - You held out as a SACRIFICE.
That crown of Thorns lay on Your Head
BLOOD streaming down Your Lovely Face,
So were the 'tears' of sorrow
as You DIED for the 'HUMAN RACE'!
Each 'bone' thrown 'out of joint'
as they raised that Cross up high,
REDEMPTIONS PRICE had now been PAID
as You bid the World - goodbye.
Yes, all was 'FINISHED' now
that 'awful' price was PAID,
They took Your Body from the Cross
& in a tomb - they laid.
But, 'DEATH' could NOT keep You
as You were - God's PERFECT SON,
Up from that grave You 'rose'
for You were - that 'HOLY ONE'!
Sinless, spotless - was Your 'Life'
so You could pay that 'awful' price,
Now all we have to do is 'BELIEVE'
& 'CARE' that You made such a SACRIFICE -
